Nice to see that some of you guys here are old fans of Genesis [& Brand X]...they were a bad-a$$ majestic band [& fusion-prog-rock band, respectively]...
I'm not sure what the problem was with Bruford; all i know is that he kix some entire mule on that live Cinemashow [off of Seconds Out] - GREAT drumming...Stv Hackett's solo 'Watcher oif the Skies' is also killer [Bill is on title track & also 'Firth of 5th;' Chester T, Hugo Daagenhardt[sp?]...[monster drummers!], & Tarajan Bombast are killin' on the others...
The new drummer for Brand X is great, too...i believe it's Frank Katz....

Funny story:
My pops went to see Brand X at the old Cellar Door in DC back in the seventies. He was all stoked to see Phil tear it up in such a small venue. But when they got there, there was no Phil. It ended up being Kenwood Dennard on drums that night. Kenwood was wearing a t-shirt that said "Where's Phil?" which is freegin' hilarious. I guess the poor guy was sick to death of being asked. Nonetheless, I heard he was pretty badass too.

PTrack - I just listened to the BX tune "Xanax Taxi" w Katz [w his drum solo] - "WORD." [img]wink.gif[/img]

Is that Tony "Thunder" Smith, the guy who played with Lou Reed and Pat DiNizio?
Wierd style, but strong drumming...
